Sentiero is built on a simple principle: your data is yours. This policy explains what the app accesses, how it uses that data, and what it does not do.
Sentiero reads workout route data from Apple HealthKit and your current location from Core Location. All of this data is processed and stored entirely on your device. Nothing leaves your phone.
Sentiero requests read-only access to workout routes (walking, running, cycling, and hiking) stored in Apple Health. This data is used solely to determine which map tiles you have explored. Sentiero does not write to HealthKit.
In accordance with Apple's HealthKit guidelines:
Sentiero requests "while in use" location access to center the map on your current position. Your location is not recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Sentiero does not:
Sentiero loads topographic map imagery from OpenTopoMap, an open-source mapping service. These requests contain standard HTTP metadata (your IP address and the geographic coordinates of the tiles being viewed). Sentiero has no control over OpenTopoMap's data handling. No personal or HealthKit data is included in these requests.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date.
